A photo journal comprised of my thoughts on motherhood and other life happenings, as well as some of professional work as a photographer. Southern California is home.
A family portrait, once a week, every week in 2015
Willy: Celebrated a birthday and asked for nothing other than a handwritten card. I wrote him a love letter, of sorts. He also got news that the company he works for is being bought by another company, so we’re trying to think positive and are hoping for the best turnout. Change is always hard.
Hooper: When asked what he dreams about, will always say “you”. Also, peeked under a public restroom stall to the woman next door. That was fun.
Van: Found a pair of my aviator glasses and has been sporting them everywhere, even at night, all week. He looks like he belongs alongside Eric Estrada of Chips. Oh shit, did I just age myself? He’s also had a hell of a time getting back on board with potty training since we’ve been away from home. He suddenly hates sitting on the toilet and has had a few accidents, which he still blames on the fact he “hates Christmas”, and so, we’re taking a potty training break.
Me: Coming off my trifling in Arizona high, where I always seem to score. I came home with some awesome new-to-me dresses, some pottery, and – as always – a few things for the boys. I really am trying to buy less these days, but it’s so hard when you find something you LOVE and it only costs 4 bucks.
Jimmie: Made it all the way through a trip to Arizona and back without coming home with the “least valuable player” award. Also peed on our dinner guests the other night, but a week wouldn’t be complete without some reminder that life is never all peaches n’ cream, and neither is Jimmie.
Weekly Resolutions: Being away from home so much as of late has made keeping up with our weekly resolutions hard. We managed to get through a week of “no soda” last week (which was harder for Willy than myself). We’ve also continued to make our bed; not everyday, but the room sure looks nicer on the days we make the effort.
Haha, made me laugh again! Hooper peeking under the bathroom stall and Van blaming his accidents on Christmas… so good. Best of luck with Willy’s company’s changes and keeping your resolutions 🙂
Yes. I totally relate to checking under public restroom stalls, I’m usually able to catch my boys trying before they actually get all the way down. But I have had an unfortunate incident in a lingerie dressing room stall. I told myself before I went in the store that it wasn’t a good idea to go bra shopping with 2 little boys in tow, but somehow convinced myself that I could do it anyhow.
Love.
