A photo journal comprised of my thoughts on motherhood and other life happenings, as well as some of professional work as a photographer. Southern California is home.
Thursday morning, as I was getting the kids into the car, Willy and I watched helplessly as Sarah was hit by a car in front of our home. There have been lots of tears and lots of replaying of a horrific event over and over in our heads. I have no words, only tears and a lot of them. When I can find the words, I will share. She deserves that much, and more.

We will miss sweet Sarah. She was such a good dog.
You continue to cross my mind. All of you. May your new beginnings help in some way make the sadness depart for tiny moments while you hold on to the good memories of her. I always loved to see her in pictures. Peace. She is with you still…I promise.
Oh no! Shit. My smile from how great these photos are turned into my mouth dropping to the floor after reading your words. Shit! A few months ago, I witnessed a dog get hit by some fast asshole on a busy street after my husband (driving) and I (passenger) tried to slow traffic with a few other good folks, and tried directing the running dog off of the road and onto the sidewalk to save him. He ran into opposing traffic where some idiot wasn’t paying attention to what was a clear situation of some kind. I can still hear/see it, every time I drive by the scene (which is at least twice a day). I can’t imagine how horrific this is for you, being it’s your own. I’m so so sorry, girl. Hugs to you and your family and a big hug to Sarah. She was a beauty. -Misty
I haven’t been able to stop thinking about you guys or sweet Sarah since I heard your crying voice on the phone. I’m so glad I got to spoon her those nights in bed. She was such a good girl. Love you so much!

I don’t know how I missed this as I read your blog everyday. I am so very sorry for your loss. Sarah was such a member of the family. We lost our dog in September and it still hurts. Rest in peace Sarah – know you were loved.

I read on IG, I do not have the words. Never the right words to say “sorry for your loss”. Thinking of you
