A photo journal comprised of my thoughts on motherhood and other life happenings, as well as some of professional work as a photographer. Southern California is home.
A portrait of my boys, once a week, every week in 2014
Van: I never ask either of my boys to smile for a picture, ever – so when they do – it’s all natural.
Hooper: Looks taller and older than ever. I tell him daily to stay small. I’m selfish.

I was just gonna say, I NEVER (or rarely) see your boys looking at the camera and smiling. And I love it. Never posed and unnatural which is what I’m trying to achieve more of with my personal photography. I always used to try to get the “picture perfect” shot but your work (and others, but mostly yours) has helped give me a different (and better, I think) perspective on what I consider to be “picture perfect.” He has a great smile, btw, and it’s nice to see 🙂 -Misty
My husband would probably say otherwise, but I try never to force it. Of course sometimes I’ll see “my shot” and do what I can to get them to cooperate but even that usually just means doing what they are doing in a slightly different location or whatever. I like to document more than I like to stage. Thanks Misty, I like his little smile too 😉
